Apollo 13 philosophy: Design a vehicle with isolated switchable power systems to protect from failure. BUS A and BUS B. If you think of your bikes factory power system as BUS A, then all accessories you add should be on BUS B. They should all be switched, never direct to the battery, fused, and you should be able to shut off your accessories.
